About BMW 635CSi
The BMW 635CSi is a model affiliated to the whole 6 Series and was the first-generation coded as E24. The car was manufactured by German automaker BMW from 1978 to 1989 and was assembled in Dingofing, Germany. The first generation of the 6 Series, known as "the world's most beautiful coupe" and sold mainly to the North American market, was equipped with either a three-speed/four-speed automatic transmission (supplied by ZF) or a four-speed/five-speed manual transmission (supplied by Getrag) and was discontinued in 1989 and replaced by the BMW 8 Series.
In November 1984 for the 1985 model year, the BMW 635CSi was introduced for the North American Market. The vehicle used the M30B34 engine, producing 182 hp (136 kW) output and 214 lb-ft (290 Nm) torque at 4,000 rpm. In the 1987 model year, an L6 "luxury edition" version of BMW 635CSi became available, featuring a leather headliner & trim and an automatic gearbox. In 1988, the engine was upgraded to a 3.4 L M30B35, producing 155 kW (208 hp) power and 305 N·m (225 lb-ft) torque. The engine was equipped with a catalytic converter for the United States version so that offering similar performance to European models. The self-leveling rear suspension was added to the 635CSi equipment list.
