The Steptronic automatic transmission has Normal control mode, Sport control mode and Manual one. Engaging Sport mode means changing the position of the shift lever from 'D' to 'Sport/Manual gear' in order to shift at a racing speed. The driver is able to choose a gear by pulling the lever towards him for gear down and pushing it backward to gear up. For transmission identification it is located to the left of the transmission, above the transmission pan and behind the transmission selector cable.
