- Q:How to remove and install the rear left or right seat belt reel and anchor for Coupe, Gran Coupe on 2016 BMW 428i?Posted by Ralph Y.A:Remove rear seat bottom by folding the rear seat back down and removing the rear side trim panel (Coupe). For left or right seat belt reels, remove the seat belt reel mounting bolt and lift off the seat belt reel. Remove the seat belt anchor bolt at the base of the backrest and lift out the seat belt. Installation is the reverse of removal. Place the seat belt anchor correctly on the locating pin, make sure the tab on the seat belt reel engages the body slot, and use new self-locking bolts.Answered by BMW Parts Specialist Adrian / Jun 26, 2025
