To renew the front seal, first, fix and loosen the crankshaft pulley and the damper assembly as described while doing the lower timing case cover. very gently ease the seal out of its slot in the housing so as not to nick the casing and then fully engage the new seal endwise so that the lips lie across any scoring on the damper hub. In the case of the rear oil seal renewal, siphon the engine oil and also remove the
Flywheel. Unfasten the sump fixing bolts but do not withdraw them; this would allow chiselling away the sump gasket off the crankcase rear end cover. Take out the fixing bolts and remove the cover you will notice that if in any case the sump gasket has been damaged the sump has to be removed and gasket is changed. Remove the old oil seal from the end cover and get rid of it, and then fit the new oil seal into the end cover until it cannot be forced out. At last, reattach all the parts, which have been removed before, in the reverse way and use Atmosit or some other sealant to fix it to the part where end cover and sump are connected.
