How to replace front brake pads on BMW 325i?

Apply the parking brake, then loosen the front wheel bolts. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove both front wheels. For Teves and ATE (floating) calipers, during pad replacement, remove any adhesive foil on new pads, clean the caliper guide surfaces, apply high-temperature brake assembly grease, and monitor fluid level in the reservoir when pushing the caliper piston back. The manufacturer recommends replacing the brake pad wear sensor if removed. When reinstalling the caliper, tighten the mounting bolts. Before installing the wheels, clean the mating surfaces of the hub and wheel and apply an anti-seize compound. For Brembo (fixed) calipers, disconnect the brake pad sensor harness connector and detach the harness. Remove the brake pad sensor. To replace pads, drive out the top retaining pin, remove the bottom pad pin, and cross-spring. Using needle-nose pliers, remove the inboard brake pad. If special tool #34 1 050 is available, remove both pads; otherwise, remove one. Push the caliper pistons into the bores, ensuring the master cylinder reservoir doesn't overflow. Depress both pistons simultaneously if needed. BMW specifies using brake pad paste. Position the new brake pads into the caliper, install the wear sensor, and depress the brake pedal several times. Repeat the procedure for the remaining caliper. For all models, install the wheels, lower the vehicle, tighten wheel bolts, depress the brake pedal to seat the pads, check brake fluid level, turn the ignition key to the accessory position for 30 seconds, and check the brakes' operation before normal use.
