Where are the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor and Mass Air Flow Sensor located and How to access them on BMW 330i?

The place of the MAF/Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is on the top of the air duct/charge air cooler, close to the filter housing. To get to it, one should cautiously detach mounting screws as well as MAF sensor from the air filter duct. Then, disconnecting the electrical connector from the MAF/Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is necessary. After that, unscrew and remove it slowly from the air duct. The BMW 330i Mass Air Flow Sensor assists the engine computer in providing the engine with the correct fuel by telling it exactly how much air is getting to the intake. Positioned between the air filter and manifold, this Mass Air Flow Sensor feeds the ECU information it will combine with signals from other sensors to keep the combustion in balance with every throttle change. Over the years, the 330i line has applied two primary designs of Mass Air Flow Sensor, the older vane meter design and the now common hot wire unit. The vane meter uses a spring-loaded flap connected to a potentiometer that can wear out, limit flow, or stick if dirt is collected, which can cause hesitation or stalling. The hot wire version of the Mass Air Flow Sensor heats a fine wire that is in the airstream and measures the changes in the current, which provides faster response and less airflow resistance, although oil or dust can insulate the wire and distort the measurement.
