How to remove and reinstall the upper and lower trim panels of the steering column cover on BMW 428i?

Adjust the steering column to the fully extended, lowered position; unclip the upper Steering Column Cover from the side using a plastic prying tool; press the detent lug on each side of the Steering Column Cover outward and unclip the lower Steering Column Cover from the steering column; unplug electrical connections and remove the Steering Column Cover (reinstall in reverse order); tilt the upper Steering Column Cover forward and unclip it from cover (8).
