The timing chain tensioner is located at the right front of the cylinder head. When removing it, ensure that any dripping oil is caught in a shop towel to prevent contamination of the accessory belt. If the chain tensioner is to be reused, drain its oil chamber and place it vertically on a level working surface, compressing it slowly two times. It is important to note that no sealing ring is fitted to the chain tensioner at the factory, so a new sealing O-ring must be used during engine reassembly.
