BMW Replacement Front Brake Discs

All specifications as well as additional application information can be found in parts data, or through the authorized BMW dealer parts department. Brake discs of any axle should not be machined or replaced singularly. Elevate the automobile, secure it properly, and detach the wheels. Detach the brake caliper carrier screws and suspend the brake caliper from the chassis with stiff wire (do not disconnect hydraulic brake line); single-caliper brakes are shown and Brembo caliper removal is similar. Take out the screw, really quickly and you can take the disc out, then you check the disc for cracks, overheat, and scoring. The disc hub is stamped with the minimum allowable thickness (MIN TH); micrometer measure the disc braking surface at eight to ten different points, use the smallest measurement, and compare to the values in Table d or Table e. When the disc does not achieve minimum thickness or shows damage, replace it. Prior to installing new rear discs, be sure to clean the discs with brake cleaner. Adjust the parking brake using the parking brake adjusting procedure for this repair group.
