Remove the trim panel on the tailgate and the rear wiper arm. Detach the electrical connector and remove the mounting bolts, then pull the wiper motor out of the grommet. Before reinstalling, replace the rubber grommet, ensuring the mark on the grommet is horizontal. Insert the wiper motor into the grommet and install the bolts finger-tight, tightening them fully after centering the wiper motor.

Ensure wipers are parked with the stalk switch in the OFF position and the ignition turned off. Use a fender cover to protect the windshield. To prevent damage to the wiper arms and pivots, avoid manually sliding or forcing the wiper arms across the windshield. Begin by removing the strut bar and the wiper arms. Release three fasteners at a 90° angle to loosen the cabin cover, then lift and remove it if necessary. Unclip the cowl panel from the blind fasteners and lift it off the vehicle. Remove the fasteners at the rear of the plenum chamber and lift it off as well. Pull off the weather strip and release the locks to slightly pull the side trim forward. Remove the fasteners for the heater bulkhead and lift it off the vehicle. Release the wiper motor bracket from under the cowl by removing the mounting bolt and detaching the electrical connector. Remove the large nut at the base of the wiper arm shafts on both sides and take out the wiper assembly. Before reinstalling, replace rubber mounting grommets as necessary. Install the wiper motor bracket and tighten the mounting bolt. Before reinstalling the wiper arms, reconnect the wiper motor electrical connector and briefly switch the ignition ON with the wiper switch in the OFF position to allow the wiper pivots to reach the PARK position. Reinstall the wiper arms and blades, ensuring that when parked, each wiper blade is approximately 55 mm (2 in) from the lower windshield edge, and check the wiper blade contact angle.

Ensure the wipers are parked with the wiper stalk switch in the OFF position and the ignition turned OFF. Carefully pry off the wiper arm cover, spreading it apart to detach from the mounting pins. Lift the wiper arm off the glass and remove the wiper arm mounting nut. If needed, use a puller to detach the wiper arm from the driveshaft. For installation, reverse the removal process and position the wiper blade approximately 33 mm (1.3 in) from the lower rear window edge in the parked position.

Use a fender cover to protect the windshield.
