The front seal sits in the timing chain lower cover and can be removed using a hooked instrument once the crankshaft pulley is disconnected or you can in fact remove the timing cover to extract the seal and a tube is adequate as a drift. The rear seal is of the 'nippled' type and is located in a retainer which can only be reached after the removal of the clutch and fly wheel or the drive plate for the automatic transmission.
