How to replace the cylinder head in 3.0L six cylinder engine on BMW 328i?

Start by draining the cooling system and taking out the intake and exhaust manifolds to replace the cylinder head. Disengage the cooling hoses, let clamps go loose, and note their positions prior to removal. Be careful not to rotate the crankshaft as you take off VANOS adjustment units and unclip the timing chain module. Then remove eccentric shaft position sensor with its magnetic sensor wheel, turn eccentric shaft so that lobes are facing upward and remove M6 stop-screw between 1st and 2nd cylinders. Proceed to release cylinder head bolts watching out for the locations of M9&M10 bolts and their lengths. Ask someone for help in lifting the cylinder head while threading through it a timing chain therewithout setting up on its face having seal so as not to cause damage on valves. Remove cylinder head gasket and close oil pump galley openings. Inspect mating surfaces for nicks, scratches or warpage; clean bolt holes along with threads before checking surface finishes for nicks or burrs; this process will involve cleaning bolt holes including threads too among other things. Clean mating faces, position dowels correctly during installation while ensuring flywheel/drive plate is locked at TDC with new gasket placed for subsequently lowering on top of cylinder head where applicable pre-coat new cylinder head bolts should be inserted also with washers therefore hand tightening must be done so torque & angle specifications could follow leading onto securing bolts inclusive of installing M7 and M9 aluminum bolts at timing chain end. To reinstall timing chain followed by VANOS adjustment units plus other parts in opposite order then refill coolant system buttons up this procedure.
