- Q: How do you remove and install the differential mounts using BMW special tools on BMW 335i?A:To eliminate the differential, first, the rear differential rubber mounts need to be pulled out using a proper puller. Circolight® anti-friction agent should be used before assembling a new mount and rubber and hydraulic mounts should not be mixed the mount is drawn in firmly using a suitable press. For the front differential mounts, use BMW special tools 333312, 334161, 334162, 334465, and 33 4 466, to remove the mount, where the slots are horizontal in the rear axle support at an angle of 90-° ±7°. Paint Circolight® anti-friction agent onto the bearing sleeve in the rear sub- frame close to the rear axle carrier and onto the rubber mount, slide the rubber mount as far as possible from the side with the greater diameter into BMW special tool no 33 4 311 until slot A coincides with mark B. Last, tighten the front differential mount fully using BMW special tools 33 4166, 33 4 311, 33 4 312, 33 4 465, and 33 4 466.Then the remainder of the mounting should be done in the reverse of the above stated procedure.
