Drain engine coolant and remove the electric cooling fan. Loosen the oil filter cover to allow oil in the filter housing to flow into the pan. Remove the intake manifold, as this is necessary to access a difficult-to-reach oil filter housing fastener located on the right side of the oil filter housing under the intake manifold. It may be possible to access this bolt without removing the intake manifold using suitable tools. Working at the oil filter housing involves removing fastener E and pulling lines from the thermostat housing, followed by removing the thermostat housing fasteners and the thermostat housing itself. Next, remove the coolant line from the housing and the oil pressure sensor. Then, remove bolts C and F to take off the oil filter housing from the engine. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to clean mating surfaces and replace O-rings and seals while avoiding over-tightening fasteners to prevent damage to seals. Refill coolant and check and top off oil as needed.
