How is the gearshift knob removal process identical on BMW 335i?

Removing shift knob is the same for manual and automatic cars and it should be done only if the engine is off. First of all, it is possible to start with exerting force on the left part of the shift knob frame so that it is separated from the center console. After this, one will pull the shift knob toward himself up to the extent that he removes it from the hole which might involve applying force up to 90 lbs. of force. Also, there is some shift knob and assembly in which the knob and the boot are integrated, hence always remove the boot from the console. Also for the purpose of not causing harm to the locating tabs do not twist the knob during the process.
