Raise the vehicle and support it safely, then drain the engine oil and remove the underbody splash shields. Raise the hood to the service position and secure the engine in place. Disconnect the steering column from the steering rack and unbolt the power steering pump, followed by removing the front wheel housing liners. Using support equipment, lower the front subframe, and for all-wheel drive vehicles, remove the front drive axles and front differential. Disconnect the oil level sensor connector, and for rear-wheel drive, remove the bolts along the perimeter of the oil pan and take out the oil pan. If replacing the pan, also remove the oil level sensor. For all-wheel drive, remove the fasteners and brackets for the engine oil pipe, then remove the bolts along the perimeter of the oil pan and take out the oil pan. Replace the oil pan gasket with a new one, and the remainder of the installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to clean retaining threads and sealing surfaces, replace all aluminum and plastic fasteners with new ones, and refill the engine oil.
