  • Q: How to remove and install the washer fluid reservoir, Washer Pump, and level switch on BMW 428i?
    A:
    Remove the washer fluid reservoir. For the washer fluid level switch detach the electrical connector, rotate the switch clockwise and pry it out of the reservoir while catching any dripping fluid. Rear window washer pump (8) is not applicable to these models. For the windshield washer pump (C) detach the electrical connector, cut or loosen the hose clamp and detach the hose from the pump, then rotate the pump clockwise and pry it out of the reservoir while catching any dripping fluid. For the headlight washer pump (D) detach the electrical connector, separate the high-pressure fluid hose at the split connector (E), then rotate the pump clockwise and pry it out of the reservoir while catching any dripping fluid. Install in reverse, replacing strainers on washer pumps, coating the grommet at the base of the pump or sensor with an anti-friction agent, using new hose clamps if applicable, ensuring fluid hoses are not kinked, then fill the reservoir and check for leaks.
