Make sure wipers are parked with the stalk switch OFF and the ignition OFF; use a fender cover to protect the windshield; to avoid damaging
Wiper Arms and pivots, do not manually slide or force the wiper arms across the windshield. With wipers parked and ignition off, disconnect the negative (-) battery cable and cover the battery terminal to prevent accidental contact. Caution: Prior to disconnecting the battery, read the battery disconnection cautions given in 001 Warnings and Cautions. Remove wiper arms, then remove left and right engine compartment side covers. At the base of the windshield near the top of each fender, working at left and right sides of the cowl panel, remove expanding rivets. Using a 5 mm Allen wrench, loosen all snap fasteners by turning 90° counterclockwise and lift off the cover. Working at the left side of the plenum chamber, disconnect electrical connector A, remove wiper motor assembly mounting screws, pull the wiper motor assembly out of guide B and remove it from the vehicle. When installing the wiper motor assembly, ensure it fits on guide B. When reinstalling the cowl cover, check that seals and grommets are intact and seat correctly to avoid water leaks into the cabin, and replace any damaged clips and fasteners. Before reinstalling wiper arms, make sure the wiper motor is in the PARK position, reset wiper blade positions and contact angle, and adjust wiper arm twist as needed.
