    First, lift the vehicle and secure it with jack stands. Next, take off the splash shield underneath the engine. For RWD Vehicles, unfasten the screws and remove the cover. For the N20 and N26 engines, detaching the coolant hoses from the Water Pump after removing the fasteners and loosening the hose clamps and detaching the Water Pump. Unlock and detach the electrical connection then remove fastener and take out Water Pump. If the Water Pump has to be reused, immediately after removal fill it up to the brim with fifty percent antifreeze and fifty percent distilled water and plug all openings to prevent contamination. To remove the Water Pump from the side of the engine, the electrical connector at the front of the Water Pump needs to be disconnected, along with releasing the clamps from the hoses and removing the bolts. The installation process is simply the reverse of that for removal, making sure to manually rotate the Water Pump impeller through one full revolution before installation, align the hose clamps with the marks on the hoses, refill and bleed the cooling system and check for leaks.
