The impulse speed sensors are located at each wheel, providing the speed reference to the control unit. These permanently magnetized inductive sensors read pulses from a tooth wheel on each hub, generating a voltage signal as each tooth passes through the magnetic field. The sensors are replaceable, while the toothed exciter rings are integral with the wheel hub or axle assembly and are replaced with the assembly. For removal and installation at the front, raise and safely support the vehicle, remove the front wheels, open the ABS sensor connector protective box, lift out the connector and detach it, then remove the sensor fastener from the upper inside portion of the steering knuckle and take out the sensor, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the rear, similarly raise and safely support the vehicle, remove the rear wheels, open the ABS sensor connector protective box, lift out the connector and detach it, then remove the sensor fastener from the top of the rear trailing arm and take out the sensor, with installation also being the reverse of removal.
