BMW M3 Wiper Motor

The BMW M3 Wiper Motor is a compact electric unit that drives the wiper arms using a worm gear. It provides steady torque and offers multiple speeds to keep the weather conditions from impairing the driver's and passengers' vision. Beneath the cowl, where water and debris cannot reach, sits the assembly. The dash switch sends current to the Wiper Motor to make it operate silently. This moves the rubber-tipped blades across the glass to ensure confidence in every M3 driver. The early BMW E30 and E36 were dependent on a single-speed Wiper Motor while later BMW E46 and F80 come with a variable-speed Wiper Motor setup, the main distinction that allows drivers to match wipe intervals to changing weather. A straightforward washer pump ejects the liquid through tiny nozzles and is supported by the wiring, electric fuse, and the motor gear to complete the cycle of functioning in its entirety. If silence, grinding, or slow motion shows, the fault highly likely lies in the wiring, the switch, or the BMW Wiper Motor itself, so the highly attentive M3 owner will quickly replace the failing parts to keep their high-performance M3 ready no matter how heavy the storm.

BMW M3 Wiper Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q:
How to replace the wiper motor on BMW M3?
    Posted by Til F.
    A:
Before you change the wiper motor; it is of utmost importance to test it several times and ensure that it parks correctly. After installing your new wiper motor, operate the wipers a few times and let them park before you affix the blades. Removing items like the heater Blower Motor and its bracket located just below the windscreen wiper on an E30 means disconnecting all wiring from the unit, before taking out either the linkage or the whole assembly, blower plate, arms and grill. The installation process involves attaching washers and nuts to linkages then adding shaft covers followed by left pivot links, grille, arms driven by blowers, plate fans as well as motors. For E36 models this includes removing different pieces depending upon whether they are two door cars or four doors such as wipe blades, plenum cover, injector cover, because it has different steps for 4D vehicles than those for 2D ones such as turbine blade wipers in place of weed eaters. Reinstalling involves connecting back the washer motor, aligning links with gears on each side of mechanism's base plate by adjusting bolts' tightness over which negative battery cable can be fitted at last together with windshield brush pieces sitting tightly above all these through which electrical stream passes.
