The window motors are fitted on cable regulators and the control circuit is of two leads for reversing the motor. These are the types of faults that can occur in power window motor, one can be a noise or grinding when the motor is running, a window that will not move though you can hear the regulator or motor running and a window that can be rolled by hand or which cannot stay closed. Most of these problems result from faulty or damaged driving dogs on the window regulator. The motors are powered through relays in the GM5RD, and are provided with power or ground depending on which way the window is going, due to a request from a window switch or a convenience open/close signal. The GM5RD also includes the convenience open/close function, with the power Up and Down buttons available for controlling the power windows and sunroof when the user stands outside the vehicle using the key in the driver's door lock; the sunroof, specifically, opens with another press of the remote key only. During convenience closing, anti-trap protection is enabled, and when a request for operation is over 110 s, the protection is disabled, and a fault code is also set. In window motors of EKS electronics, the load on the electric lift motor is supervised to recognize barriers as it lifts the window; the function reverses the window in case of obstructions. Further, in case the window is activated many times within one minute, the GM5RD shuts off the motor to cooler and then switches it on again.
