In the process of emptying the fuel tank, use safe storage container and the proper
Fuel Pumping means. Switch on the engine and let it idle for about 10-15 seconds so that the fuel compensating siphon assembly is filled with fuel, both lobes of draw off fuel through the fuel filler pipe. Remove the blue or black negative cable from the battery while it is mandatory to always read the battery disconnection warning that are normally provided before starting the process. Twist the suction hose in the filler neck about 130 cm (51 in). and remove the fuels tank filler cap. Both lobes have a fuel level reduction that can be used by taking / removing the rear seat cushion to access both fuel tank sender harness connectors / using a multimeter to measure resistance at both senders decreasing as fuel level decreases. After the siphoning mechanism, if there is any problem the left tank lobe should be drained individually by removing the sender cover, then fuel is pumped directly out of the left lobe. Gently withdraw the suction hose from the tank filler neck in order to prevent the damaging of the filler neck baffle plate. While carrying our repairs, make sure to have a minimum of 5 liters (1.5 gallons of fuel in the tank) before starting the engine since using the fuel pump from a dry tank will damage the hardware.
