Replace parking brake hardware when replacing shoes by raising the car and supporting it safely, then removing the rear wheels. Without disconnecting the brake fluid hose, remove the rear
Brake Calipers from the trailing arms and take off the rear brake rotors. Ensure the brake caliper assembly is not hanging from the brake hose; support it from the chassis with strong wire. At the parking brake handle, use a suitable prying tool to unclip the boot from the catches. Relieve
Parking Brake Cable tension by using a screwdriver to lock the parking brake handle adjuster by pressing the spring back to engage the lock. Working at the rear brake, unhook the return springs from the brake shoes, rotate the hub flange to align the lug hole with the return spring, and remove the brake shoe retaining pins using a 6 mm allen wrench by rotating the retainer 90° to release. Spread the shoes apart and lift them out, applying a thin coat of grease to sliding parts and pins before reassembly. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, including the installation of the rear brake rotor and adjustment of the parking brake cables.
