How do you remove the left or right seat belt on BMW X3?

Open the rear door and loose the rear seat side bolster and seat bottom then lower down the rear seat. Remove the upper cover of the seat belt reel by raising it from the base. Detach the fasteners at the position between the seat belt reel and upper trim pull the fastener of the cover of the seat belt reel. Following the same, remove the second layer of the seat belt reel's cover that is the inner one. If necessary, also to remove the upper plastic trim and lower carpeted trim. Last but not the least, unbolt the mounting bolt for the seat belt reel, unsnap the fastener and pull the seat belt out of the car.
