How to remove and replace a front passenger seat occupant detection sensor equipped with a two-stage deployment airbag system on BMW X5?

Occupant Detection Sensors installed in the seat bottom are used with the two-stage deployment airbag system. This is done by first detaching the seat then, removing the front seat control switches. Remove the cushion lip of the front seat bottom upholstery and detach it from the seat and the foam with the help of bolster with other personnel applying force downwards on the upholstery. Pull the harness connector for the occupant detection sensor which is connected beneath the seat upholstery on top of the foam padding. The removal of the sensor can be done by pulling it off from the seat foam and the upholstery retaining rings. Change the sensor whenever it is required and replace it in the manner that it was removed above.
