Turn the vehicle until the front wheels are aligned with the car and then touch the brake pedal to make sure that it is working properly; also, if you are performing the security purpose the twist the steering wheel to the left and or right after removing the terminal which connects the negative (-) cable to the battery. Before disconnecting the battery note the warnings relating to battery disconnection. For MFL steering wheels, remove the two airbag mounting screws (Torx T30) at the back of the steering wheel. For sport steering wheels, put a skinny baby screwdriver through the hole in the back and press down on the clip which sits against the spring to help the airbag come off; and do the same on the other side. Cautiously remove the airbag from the wiring and remove the electrical connectors at the back of the airbag with your fingers. Unscrew the column upper bushing nut, and then, unscrew the MIC System reel that is in the middle of nut; The SRS contact reel is installed in the steering column switch block and needs no replacement when the steering wheel is detached. Steering column marks should be aligned before you take off the steering wheel as these usually have been match marked at the production line. When tightening the center bolt, ensure that it does not get over tightened for it might affect the match marks or the alignment pins on the steering column switch block. Before the dash is where it should be, finally, carefully install the airbag.
