- Q: How to remove and install the side view mirrors glass on BMW Z3?A:To remove the mirror glass on E30 models, insert a thin tool into the opening at the bottom center of the mirror and rotate the locking ring to the outside for removal, with installation being the reverse of this process. For E36 models, press the top of the mirror inward until it bottoms, then lift the bottom of the glass outward to release it, noting the heating element wires where they attach to the mirror. If the mirror has a heating element, carefully remove the electrical connectors. For installation, connect the electrical connectors on heated mirrors, place the mirror squarely over the adjustment base, and carefully press the mirror onto the base.
