In order to replace the driveshaft flange oil seal you will need to; drain the
Differential- remove differential unit, secure in a vise. Take off the retaining plate and scribe alignment marks on the drive flange nut, the drive flange, and the pinion so that they can easily be replaced when reassembling, get rid of the old retaining plate. Having firmly fixed the drive flange with one hand putting on a metal bar, with the other hand, unscrew the nut and count the turns. Employ a puller to pull out the drive flange of the pinion and if it is worn out, change with a new one, for the dust cover. Remove the old oil seal and scrape the seat, subsequently lubricate the lips of the new oil seal with oil and insert the oil seal until it has reached the flushing position. Slide on the dust cover, position the drive flange at those marks and screw on the flange nut as tight as the last time without overdoing it. Replace the original retaining plate with the new one and fit the differential, and refill the latter with oil. For driveaxle flange oil seal for example, drain the differential oil, remove the bolt securing the constant velocity joint of the driveshaft and then secure the driveshaft to avoid movement. With caution, detach the driveshaft flange on the differential bearing, without damaging the dust seal; remove the flange and the dust seal and, if the latter is worn out, fit a new one. Remove the old oil seal, degrease the seat and fit a new circlip in the splined shaft. Lubricate the outside of the new oil seal at the country of the sealing lip, and then insert it into casing, it is possible if need to use a socket. This you have to install the dust cover and drive flange, now the circlip retain it in its place. Slide the driveshaft to the flange, and fit new attaching bolts and covers before refilling the differential assembly with oil.
