How to remove and install the release hood cable on the BMW Z4?

The hood release cable consists of three sections,the cable connecting the release lever to the connection on the left side under the hood, the second cable connecting the terminal to the left side hood lock, and a third cable connecting the two hood lock on the left and right side. To deply the release lever-to-connection cable, farewell the driver's door then pull up the door sill trim panel, at the same time pull up the rubber weatherstrip at the near side of the footwell kick panel. The fasteners of the lower panel above the pedals have to be unscrewed and, as the panel is pulled out, the wiring connectors may be disconnected. Pop the hood release lever pin and the pin of the footwell kick panel, which is pinned with only one screw. Disconnect the cable inner end fitting from the release lever; snap off the outer release cable end fitting from the engine compartment firewall and then reel in the cable into the engine compartment. Remove the connection housing from the inner wing, open it , and disconnect the inner and outer cables. To detach the construction of the connection-to-hood lock cable, unsnap the construction of the connection housing under the extensible, look inside it and extricate both the inner and the exterior construction of the cables. The hood lock entails the removal of the linking cable. For installation, do the reverse of the removal steps in a manner that the cable is well fitted to all the retaining clips as well as guaranteeing that the hood locks are well functioning before closing the hood.
