    To remove the transmission components: Remove the starter motor. Remove the exhaust system, heat shield, and exhaust mounting crossmember. Remove the driveshaft. On 6-speed models, disconnect the shift cable from the transmission. Disconnect the wiring plugs and any sensors attached to the transmission, then remove the transmission mounting bolts and carefully lower the transmission from the vehicle.
