BMW 21526795711 Clutch Slave Cylinder

Working on the left side of the engine compartment, remove the brake fluid reservoir cover. Use a special tool or equivalent hose clamping tool to pinch off the brake reservoir to clutch master cylinder supply hose. Raise the vehicle and support it safely, then remove the lower engine and transmission splash shields as necessary. Remove the slave cylinder mounting nuts from the clutch bellhousing and take out the cylinder. While working underneath the transmission, release the retaining clip and remove the hydraulic line, placing a pan under the hose to catch any dripping fluid. At the brake fluid reservoir, remove the hose clamp tool from the hydraulic line. Hold the cylinder with the piston facing down and press the piston into the cylinder five times until it engages. The remainder of the installation is the reverse of removal, with attention to checking for wear on the slave cylinder, lightly coating the pushrod tip with molybdenum disulfide grease, ensuring the pushrod lip engages the recess in the clutch release lever, confirming that the spacer (if equipped) between the fuel line and hydraulic line remains in position, and filling the brake fluid reservoir with clean fluid before bleeding the clutch hydraulics.
