It's important to keep track of how each part is removed from the instrument panel because you need to disconnect many things while doing this work. Start by removing the battery's negative terminal, and wait 11 minutes before you continue. Take apart and remove the necessary earlier anti-submarine region safety parts, then take out parts that stay in the center console. After that, unscrew the steering wheel and bolts holding down the driver side knee bolster. Take out the instrument cluster, headlight switch, radio, and climate control parts both on top and underneath. Take out the controls for the blinkers and wipers with accessories. Unscrew the four small plastic caps on either side of the glove box, then unscrew the screws inside. Detach the trim caps and screws behind your right air vents and on the right console side. Gently close the glove compartment. Pull it down a little, and unscrew the two screws that hold its cover in place. Lift and detach the two main plastic attachment points for the passenger side air bag support from its anchor on the outer panel. Unpin the two instrument panel edge-trims where they connect to the car's walls. Before taking out the screws, disconnect the two under-center vent mounting nuts and remove the trims below the windshield. Take out the instrument panel on the passenger side by gently pushing it up and taking it out from the vehicle, placing it in the opposite way when reinstalling.

If the above speedometer does not function, examine the speed sensor pickup and change it if it is bad. Check for corrosion of the terminals, loose connections or the broken wires connecting the speed sensor to the speedometer and rectify. To check the correct function, fit an assured fine speedometer; if it runs fine, then replace the speedometer assembly. For an intermittently working speedometer wiring should also be checked and cleaned or repaired if necessary, and on the speedometer itself there is the speed sensor pickup which should be replaced if necessary.
