To replace the air filter element, the fresh air intake tube should be unclipped at its both ends and latter should be removed. Start with the electrical connector of the mass air flow sensor which has to be disconnected, the hose clamp at the mass airflow sensor should be loosened and the intake duct pulled away from the Air Filter Box. Pull on the two rubber grommets set in the plastic support mounts to remove the Air Filter Box. Afterward, take off the intake duct from the throttle housing elbow through the loosening of the clamp, and then remove the elbow from the throttle housing. For installation, it is just the opposite of what was done above, while making certain the air cleaner box is in correct position on the rubber mount. After reinstallation one must delete all possible fault codes in the ECM memory.

For air filter servicing, disconnect the mass air flow sensor connector, release the mass air flow sensor clips, and remove the filter box mounting bolts. Disconnect the air duct and lift the complete air filter box out of the engine compartment, pulling it forward away from the mass air flow sensor. While working at the throttle body, loosen the duct clamp and remove the duct from the throttle body. Installation is the reverse of removal, and after reinstalling, check and clear fault codes from ECM memory.
