BMW 16117248294 Right Fuel Level Sending Unit

To remove the fuel level sender and fuel pump assembly: Remove the rear seat cushion. Fold back the insulation material to expose the access cover. Remove the mounting nuts of the access cover and take off the cover from the floor. Through the access hole, disconnect the electrical connectors and the vent hose from the fuel level sensor and fuel pump cover. Unscrew the fuel level sender and fuel pump assembly locking ring and remove it from the tank. Use appropriate tools or methods to accomplish this, such as a pair of pliers pushing on two raised ribs. Carefully lift the fuel level sender and fuel pump assembly cover from the tank. Disconnect the vent hose and wiring plugs from the base of the cover. Note the positioning of the rods in the base of the cover and disconnect hoses from the assembly. Carefully remove the pump/sensor unit from the tank, being cautious not to damage the float arm. If needed, unclip the level sensor from the pump assembly. The sender resistance on full deflection should read 993 ohms, and on zero deflection, it should read 51 ohms.
