BMW 16141179415 Intank Fuel Pump & Housing Assembly

Begin by disconnecting the negative battery cable and lowering the fuel level if the tank is full. Remove the rear seat cushion and peel back the insulating sheet to access the right side cover. Take off the screws from the cover, lift it off, and disconnect the electrical plug and fuel lines. Remove the screws from the sender portion of the pickup assembly and slowly remove the sender to allow the fuel to drain into the tank. Rotate the pickup assembly counterclockwise and pull it out slowly, allowing the fuel to drain back into the tank.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and ensure the ignition switch is in the OFF position. 2. Use fuel line block-off clamps on the inlet and outlet lines of the fuel pump to prevent fuel leakage. 3. Remove the electrical connection covers, wires, and hoses connected to the pump. 4. Remove the nuts holding the fuel pump and the assembly itself. 5. Disconnect the hose from the pump and remove it from the bracket. 6. Install the new pump by placing it in the bracket, connecting the hose, and attaching the pump and bracket to the car. 7. Connect the hoses and electrical connections, remove the block off clamps, and attach the fuel lines and electrical connector. 8. Replace the cover and insulating sheet, install the rear seat cushion, reconnect the negative battery cable. 9. Check for normal operation and fuel leaks.
