2007 BMW 335i Fuel Rail Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the high pressure fuel rail and ensure proper connections and adjustments on 2007 BMW 335i?
A: To install the high pressure rail, connect the nut finger tight and install the fasteners also finger tight before attaching the electrical connector. Remove and discard the copper seals on the high pressure lines that were installed at the factory, then connect the high pressure line finger tight. If reusing the high pressure line, coat the nut threads with gear oil, noting that the high pressure line may only be retightened ten times. If both nuts on the line cannot be easily installed by hand, adjust the position of the injector by loosening the fastener and rotating the injector in the direction of the arrows until the high pressure line nuts can be easily tightened. Afterward, tighten the fastener for the hold-down bracket and the fuel injector rail fasteners, followed by tightening the fuel line nut. Use the specified tightening sequence by first tightening the nut with special tool 37 1 151 while holding the injector with a wrench, then tightening the nut again with the same tool. Clean all fuel from the ignition coil hole, check the fuel system for leaks, and check for fault codes before resetting the ECM memory.
