Raise the vehicle and securely support it on jack stands. Remove the splash guard, which is located under the engine, and the front end reinforcement. If driveshaft will be reused, paint mark the mounting flanges and sections for original alignment upon reassembly. The components of the front driveshaft consist of transfer case, ZNS bolt (to be replaced with a new one), driveshaft, and universal. Detach the universal joint bolts at the front differential input flange. Then, remove the universal joint bolts at the transfer case flange and remove the driveshaft. The process of installation is the reverse of removal. Take care to continue observing any marks made earlier, if applicable, and to replace the ZNS fasteners with new ones.
