BMW 2002 Brake Disc

BMW 2002 Brake Disc provides excellent braking control and gives the driver increased confidence due to its proven combination of heat dissipation and toughness. This Brake Disc is made of high-grade gray iron and is compatible with the traditional front caliper system on all BMW 2002 models, including the enthusiast-friendly regular coupe and the cult icon, the turbocharged one, ensuring that deceleration is consistent on both urban and winding streets. Its internal vanes are vented to pull in cooling air each time the wheel turns to avoid fading on repeated use of the brake, and the drilled face model of the Brake Disc actively removes moisture to maintain constant pedal feel in the rain. Proprietors hail the element as dependable as the chassis in its legendary agility, with the Brake Disc not warping even following enthusiastic mountain drives. The compatibility spans the 1968 to 1976 production run, meaning that no matter what your pilot car is, you are actually using the same dimensionally correct Brake Disc in the hub, which can be inserted without any alteration, making restorations and even daily usage easier. The Brake Disc reduces stopping times, safeguards the suspension parts against unnecessary heat, and enhances the overall performance and safety characteristics of the BMW 2002 platform by converting hydraulic pressure into smooth, linear bite that works together with OEM pads to shorten stopping distances. This consideration of thermal physics has served the BMW name to receive its legacy status, and fans understand that a factory-spec 2002 with this exact Brake Disc continues to offer that formula of performance, poise, and heritage that BMW is not matched by competitors and the 2002 legacy in the BMW family.

BMW 2002 Brake Disc Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q:
How to remove and examine the Brake Disc on BMW 2002?
    Posted by Sandra J.
    A:
Jack up the front of the car and remove the road wheel and disc pads. Examine the surface of the disc for deep scoring or grooving; light scoring is normal, but anything more severe should be addressed by having the disc surface ground, provided the thickness remains within specification; otherwise, a new disc will be required. Check the disc for run-out using a dial gauge, or a reasonable check can be made with feeler blades between the disc face and a fixed point; if the run-out exceeds 0.008 in. (0.2 mm), the disc must be replaced. To remove the disc, first take off the hub assembly, then unscrew the socket-headed screws and lift the disc from the hub. If needed, the disc inner guard plate can be removed by unscrewing the three securing bolts. Reassembly follows the reverse order of disassembly.
