Q: How to replace the drive belt?A: Carry out the operations described. Loosen the alternator mounting and adjustment strap bolts and slip the notched alternator driving belt from the pulleys. Remove the crankshaft pulley (four bolts). Slacken the topmost toothed belt cover bolt and remove the lower ones. Slip the belt from the pump sprocket and then pull the belt cover forward so that the belt can be withdrawn downwards and out of the housing. Refitting is a reversal of removal but on no account turn the crankshaft while the injection pump belt is removed otherwise the belt and sprocket cannot be aligned correctly. The notched type alternator belt requires no adjustment.
