BMW 2002 Alternator

The Alternator on the BMW 2002 generates a steady flow of electricity that powers the car's lights, ignition, and every component in the BMW 2002 cabin. As the Alternator rotor revolves, a moving magnetic field crosses an armature that is stationary. This current is said to be alternating current that is made to flow through the circuit in a regulated manner to maintain the voltage in an Alternator. The early versions of the 2002 employed a straightforward field coil Alternator. Later models were fitted with versions featuring automatic voltage control, which facilitated a smoother power output and enhanced durability for the components. In theory, there is a magneto-style unit that uses permanent magnets, but this was not fitted to stock 2002 cars. This is presumably because field-excited designs are more able to cope with changing electrical loads. No matter what year, straining the Alternator by putting on heavy electrical demand or ignoring maintenance causes it to heat up and eventually fail, so doing it regularly and reasonably is still the key. In short, every BMW in the classic 2002 range relies on this compact generator to transform mechanical work into dependable current. The Alternator is among the important pieces under the hood.
