Begin the removal of the battery by identifying its position beneath the cover on the right side trunk. The right-hand side trunk side trim above the battery should be removed by opening up and unhitching it on sedan, coupe, and convertible models. Remove the fasteners and lift out the rear floor panel under wagon models, remove these fasteners and lift out the associated side panel, rotate these fasteners counterclockwise to allow them to come off above this battery trim. Loosen this clamping nut with a spanner ensuring that negative cable is free from any contact with positive terminal before taking off clamp from battery's negative terminal. Take away support bracket above battery that has mounting bolts. Lift plastic cover up then unbolt nut which fastens connector assembly to positive clamp. Use a flat blade screwdriver to pry aside retaining clip either sides of it's topmost part so as to lift apart connector assembly from overlying batter surface Pry off plastic cap on positive clamp; get that loose nut then pull positive clamp assembly from terminal on battery in order to take it out. Unscrew bolt; take away this battery retaining clamp. At last, detach vent hose when pulling battery from housing. Before installing a new one, attach positive cable followed by negative cable.
