Disconnect the battery negative cable in the cargo compartment, ensuring to read the battery disconnection cautions beforehand. Remove the cabin microfilter housing, followed by the ignition coil cover. Next, take out the complete air filter housing and air intake ducts, and if necessary, remove the tension strut. Disconnect the crankcase breather line at the cylinder head cover if equipped, noting that not all models have this additional line, as some will have a plug in its place. Proceed to remove the throttle housing. While working at the right side underneath the intake manifold, disconnect the vacuum hose if equipped, remove the fuel tank vent valve from its mounting bracket, and lay the vacuum hose aside. Slide the wiring harness junction box off the bracket under the intake manifold and disconnect the electrical connector at the oil pressure switch. At the top of the intake manifold, unhook the electrical harness retainers and place the harness out of the way, then remove the electrical connector and fasteners. At the backside of the intake manifold, cut the cable tie and disconnect the electrical connector if equipped. To prevent parts or debris from falling into the engine intake, plug the open intake ports. The installation process is the reverse of removal, and remember to replace the intake manifold seals if necessary.
