Remove the intake air filter housing and drain the power steering fluid reservoir using a clean syringe, ensuring not to reuse the fluid. Raise the front of the car and remove the splash shield from under the engine. Take off the accessory belt from the power steering pump, marking the direction of rotation if the belt is to be reused. While working under the vehicle, release the hose clamp and detach the low-pressure fluid hose from the pump, being prepared to catch any dripping fluid. Plug the openings in the pump and hose ends to prevent contamination. Remove the fastener for the A/C refrigerant line clamp and the fasteners for the power steering pump bracket. Detach the high-pressure fluid hose from the pump by removing the banjo bolt, again being prepared for dripping fluid, and plug the openings to prevent contamination. Remove the fasteners and take the power steering pump out from below. When installing the pump, replace aluminum fasteners with new ones, tighten the pump fasteners finger tight, and follow the specified tightening sequence: tighten side bracket fasteners to 2 Nm (18 in-lb), then tighten front bracket fasteners to 2 Nm (18 in-lb) before tightening the front bracket fasteners to the final specification. Release the side bracket fasteners and ensure the bracket is flush with the engine block, then tighten the side bracket fasteners to the final specification. The remainder of the installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to replace sealing rings on the high-pressure fluid hose, fill and bleed the hydraulic system, and check for leaks.
