  Q: How to disconnect the battery and remove the blower motor on BMW X3?

  Disconnect the battery negative cable, ensuring to read the battery disconnection cautions beforehand. Remove the strut bar and wiper arms. Release three fasteners at a 90° angle to loosen the cabin microfilter cover, then lift the cover and remove the microfilter. Unclip the cowl panel from the blind fasteners and lift it off the vehicle. Remove the fasteners at the rear of the plenum chamber and lift it off as well. Pull off the weather strip and release the locks to slightly pull the side trim forward. Remove the fasteners for the heater bulkhead, then lift it off and remove it from the vehicle. Working inside the right side of the cowl, pull up on the lever to detach the right air intake flap from the blower housing. Pry off the blower cover retaining clips, remove the screw, and lift off the outer blower housing cover. Remove the blower cover retaining screws and lift off the cover, then detach the electrical harness connector. Pry off the blower motor retaining strap and pull the blower motor forward to remove it. For installation, reverse the removal process, ensuring to align the slot in the blower motor with the mounting tab in the blower motor housing.
