The 6-cylinder coolant reservoir is illustrated, with VB models being similar. Begin by raising the front of the car and ensuring it is stable and well supported using a professional automotive lift or jack stands, as a floor jack does not provide adequate support. Remove the splash shield from under the engine and drain the
Radiator and engine block. Next, remove the intake air filter housing by releasing the MAF sensor electrical connector, removing mounting fasteners, and releasing the hose clamp. Detach the air ducts from the throttle valve and air intake, then lift the air filter housing to remove it. In the front of the engine compartment, remove expansion rivets, detach the air intake duct, and lift off the air intake hood. Release hose retaining clips and disconnect coolant hose fittings from the reservoir. Underneath the radiator, release the electrical connector from the coolant level sensor. For the 6-cylinder model, pull out the reservoir by detaching it from the radiator at the top and then pulling it up from the mounting bracket at the bottom. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to replace rubber O-rings and fill the radiator and cooling system.
