Where is the Vapor Canister located and how to remove it on BMW X5?

The carbon canister is mounted on the lower left side of the vehicle behind the sill. First, it is recommended that the car should be lifted off the ground and well secured in a way that will not lead to a breakdown of support mid-procedure. After that, it will be necessary to unbolt the left fuel tank underbody protection attaching bolts which are shorter located at point-A and thus the forward edge of the underbody protection panel can be dropped down down to enable the space to accommodate the fuel filter and the carbon canister. BMW special tool 16 1 050 should be used to remove the hoses from the carbon canister. After that, it is necessary to unbolt the fastener belong to the carbon canister and body and then extract the canister. The installation process is done in total reversed order of the removal process.
