How to properly remove and install rear wiper arms on BMW X5?

Always park your wipers with the wiper stalk switch in the OFF position and the ignition OFF as well. Lift off the wiper arm mounting nut cover and thus twist off the nut that fixes the wiper arm. In case the arm was fitted to the pivot by using BMW special tool 61 6 060, use the equivalent puller or the BMW special tool in question to remove it. To remove, simply reverse the steps needed to install the wiper blade - when parked, the blade should be at least 33 mm (11 in) above the edge of the lower rear window.
