Non-toxic coolant is available at most auto parts stores. Although the coolant is nontoxic, proper disposal is still required. A new sealing ring will be required on installation. To remove the water pump, first drain the cooling system. Then, remove the cooling fan. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts and remove the auxiliary drivebelt. Unscrew the retaining bolts/nuts and remove the pulley from the pump, noting which way around it is installed. Loosen and remove the pump retaining bolts/nuts and withdraw the pump. If the pump is a tight fit, screw two M6 bolts into the jacking holes on either side of the pump and use the bolts to draw the pump out of position. Recover the sealing ring from the rear of the pump. To install the new pump, install the new sealing ring to the rear of the pump and lubricate it with a smear of grease to ease installation. Place the pump in position and reinstall the retaining bolts/nuts. Tighten the bolts/nuts evenly and progressively to the torque, making sure the pump is drawn squarely into position. Reinstall the pulley to the pump, making sure it is the correct way around, and screw in its retaining bolts. Tighten the bolts to the torque. Reinstall the drivebelt then securely tighten the pulley bolts. Reinstall the
Cooling Fan Assembly. Finally, refill the cooling system.
