This system includes a carbon-filled evaporative canister that absorbs fuel vapors, a vent cap for fresh air circulation, and a canister purge valve that allows for the purging of trapped vapors. The vacuum to the canister is controlled by the PCM, which regulates the canister purge valve based on engine operating conditions. The fuel tank is sealed with a pressure-vacuum relief filler cap to prevent excessive pressure or vacuum. The EVAP Control system includes components such as the fuel tank, fuel fill cap, evap purge canister, fuel tank pressure sensor, ECM, and evap purge control solenoid valve. The system can be tested using a Data Scan Tool, and components such as the canister, hoses, and solenoid valve can be visually inspected for damage. The solenoid purge valve can be tested for vacuum hold and coil resistance, and the electrical connector can be checked for voltage cycling. The solenoid purge valve and carbon canister can be removed and replaced if necessary. The expansion tank, which is not directly related to the EVAP Control system, can also be removed and replaced if needed.
